As you know already- there are better cameras out there- but they do cost more. For the price (which is less than $120 on this model)- Kodaks are pretty good deals.
The only suggestion I would have is to get the upgrade to this camera- the C653. It has some higher ISO options and is the same price.
If you're willing to spend more (let's say, $160 to $200, that opens up a few more doors.

Comment on Ipod Classic – Need To Connect Digital Camera- Bought Apple’s Camera Connector? by Windgaze

The iPod Camera Connector is compatible with the iPod models listed below; other iPod models are not supported. To identify the different iPod models, see "Identifying different iPod models."
Supported iPod models
    * iPod (5th generation)
    * iPod (5th generation late 2006)
    * iPod photo (also known as iPod with color display)
In other words, you can't, not with a classic. As for a confirmation of sorts, I used to carry a 5th gen and used the connector every once in a while and recently upgraded to a 160g classic only to find out that the camera connector is no longer working.
I've done some research online and all I can find on the subject is, Apple no longer continues to support the camera connector, alegedly some people have heard a 'Not yet' when asking, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Only option you have is obtaining a real classic, ie a 5th gen or lower or if you only need it for you camera, buy a proper camera backup device...

try turning ur phone off, then take out the sim and reinsert it, if that doesnt work try putting it in another olympus camera, if THAT doesn't work you can try printing the photos out by inserting the sim into a digital thing at those camera prionting places OR you could ring the company and abuse them
you will get ur photos back don't stress

First, do not format your card. Second, check this list and choose an image recovery program to try. By the way, Sandisk includes a copy of Rescue Pro with their high speed cards.http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=dig…

As for the "accessory not suppoerted"...you need to plug in the ipod and download the newest version of itunes and you'll be able to plug it in successfully.
I'm not sure what a "leopard" is but after you update itunes, you should be able to click and drag the photos you want into your itunes library and then into the specific ipod you want them in.
Good luck!
And if you need more help, try calling 1-800-MY-APPLE

if the photos are showing too much shadow, you need to open up the aperture of your camera more to allow in more light. This is where the f-stops come into play. Generally, you want to use 5.6, but you can move up or down to let in more or less light. I usually leave my canon set on the aperture value setting, and let the shutter speed take care of itself. When you take a pic, check it on your screen, then play with the aperture until you get the look you're going for. You can use filters, but the colored ones are more for enhancing a sunset or a blue sky or clouds, and the others are more for effects. A UV filter is good to leave on your lens all the time - it dosn't make a whole lot of difference in the way a pic looks, but it does protect your lens. I found books to be the most helpful - Teach Yourself Photography is very simple yet gets the trade across pretty well.
Lens sizes - your 18-55 is standard for most photography, and your 75-300 is going to be for distance - I use mine alot at the zoo when critters are far away. I'm sure you've noticed it's a little harder to steady than the smaller lens, so a tripod (even a handheld one) comes in handy there.
When you take pics - take notes! Jot down the camera settings that you are using, and the results you got. You'll start to see a pattern with what settings are used on the good shots, and what to avoid in certain situations.
Hope I've helped a little!
