Please Help!!! My Olympus Digital Camera Says “card Error” And I Can’t Retrieve My Pics!?

i have 150 pics on my olympus d-595 and as i was looking through them the screen suddenly went blue and said “xd – card error”. now, every time i turn on the camera that’s all i see. aree my pictures gone? if not, how can i retrieve them?? PLEASE HELP!!!

Minidv Camcorder Vs. Canon Digital Camera Video Capture?

So recently, I had been doing a project with my friend’s two digital camcorders that are Canon brand. They are MiniDV camcorders (one cost $1200 and the other $2500). I am not sure exactly what the model number is. At the same time, I was playing around with my Canon Powershot A710IS’s video capture function. After I transfered the footage captured on the two MiniDVs, I compared the quality to that of the footage recorded on my Powershot and the Powershot’s footage actually seemed crisper, brighter, and cleaner. On the other hand, the MiniDVs seemed grainy and kind of dim. All of the footage was in AVI format. Is it possible that a digital camera’s video quality is actually better than MiniDV? (Given: my friend’s camcorders are a couple years old but they work perfectly fine.)

I have had my Canon Rebel XT since December. I have shot with all of the different settings in many different environments but still have no clue what I am doing! I even talked to a local photographer for help but he confused me even more. I have a 18 to 55 mm and 75-300 lens. No matter what setting it is on my photos taken outside are shadowed and never end up looking the way that they are supposed to look. I have read the manuals over and over again, looked up advice on various websites, etc. I have to wonder if a filter of some sort would help with my outside photos to look more clear and crisp. If not then what? I would really appreciate any and all help that you could give me about the camera, either lens, accessories, etc. Do I have to use Canon products? Which lens sizes are the best and why? I am unfortunately on a tight budget so really expensive items aren’t an option as of now. Even so, I would love to hear what would help so that maybe I could save for it! Thank you so much!!! I really, really appreciate it!

i have tried everything to put the memory cards in there. they fit.
they are the right memory card. just every time i turn on the camera with the memory card inside it. it asks me to format the card. when i try to format the card. it sayd “card error”. every time it says that. if you have any suggestions please help me. thanx =]

For A Camcorder What Is The Difference Between Digital Zoom And Optical Zoom?

Optical zoom is what you want. It works with the lenses to make things bigger or smaller. Once the image goes through the lenses and the imaging chips and through the electronics in the camcorder, Digital zoom just makes the pixels bigger, so using digital zoom will result in reduced quality
Personally, I think digital zoom should be removed from camcorders – not only does it reduce image quality, but no one can actually hold a camcorder still when fully zoomed in on something. Even tripods have a problem because they can pick up shaking from the ground and the camcorder’s stabilization is not enough to eliminate that.
